10 Years of Chai Love

Posted by The Buzz Team

You may have recently seen our shout-out to our amazing National Sales Manager, Karen, who is celebrating 10 years with Bondi Chai this year. In case you missed it…

We’re also incredibly grateful to all our amazing, loyal customers who have been supporting us for many years, some are even joining Karen in marking a 10th Anniversary this year. Who are they, you might ask?

Wild Wombat, Hurstbridge, VIC

The Wild Wombat opened their doors way back in 2008 and has been serving Bondi Chai since June 2013. Renowned for their hospitality in the cafe, the Wild Wombat team also offers catering options for all kinds of events with a range of fresh, mouth-watering treats made in-house from local produce.

Reviewers rave about the service, atmosphere and amazing food with owner Ange serving up the tastiest sausages made using a family recipe that originated in the Balkans and has been passed down through the family for more than a century.

The Home Interior, Nelson Bay, NSW

Situated in the beautiful Port Stephens township of Nelson Bay (Bondi Chai’s own stomping ground), The Home Interior is popular with both locals and visitors alike and has been serving Bondi Chai lattes since October 2013.

What sets this little gem apart is that The Home Interior not only boasts a café serving delightful food and drinks, but is also a home decore store where you can peruse a unique range of furniture and accessories. They even have in-house stylists to help bring your interior decorating ideas to life.

Pump@123, Toowoomba, QLD

Located in a converted former Ampol petrol station, Pump@123 in Toowoomba has been the go-to for customers who need a hot drink or food on the run since 2011 and has been fuelling their chai lovers with Bondi Chai since March 2013.

With a drive-thru service in place for those who don’t have time to dine in, Pump@123 serves takeaway, breakfast and lunch and is hugely popular with the locals. The Pump franchise (there are two other stores in Wyalla and South Toowoomba) has served Merlo Coffee for many years and was among Merlo's biggest resellers in 2020. The fabled coffee roaster (which also supplies Bondi Chai) bought the three Pump sites in 2021 and is making sure the tradition continues for all Pump's followers.

Cosmo Coffee, Tuggerah and Castle Hill, NSW

Cosmo Coffee in Tuggerah has been part of the Bondi Chai family almost as long as it’s been in business, coming on board in November 2013. The Tuggerah location was the flagship store which has been joined by a Cosmo Coffee cafe in Castle Hill, NSW.

Jenny and her team have been a mainstay of the Tuggerah Shopping Centre with a huge and loyal customer base that has helped Cosmo Coffee to thrive through even the toughest times of the Covid pandemic. Naturally, we’re very proud that Bondi Chai has played a part in their success.

There are also several cafes around the country that have been serving Bondi Chai for more than 10 years, you may even recognise a couple of them from our Faces of Bondi Chai series linked to our new packaging:

Village Grind, Soldier’s Point, NSW in 2012

Store Espresso, Camperdown, NSW in 2011

Espresso @ The Wesley, Auchenflower, QLD in 2010

Aromas Fine Food and News, Launceston, TAS in 2008 - Check out George and Mary's amazing story here
